Here are some links to other websites. They have helped us during Build Season and also during off-season. It is only right to share them with all you FIRSTers out there! We try to make sure that the only tutorials that we have here are necessary for your use.
Websites that ALL FIRSTers should know:
- US FIRST.org: If you have not been here already, go there now. This is a vital source for ALL robotics teams.*
- Chief Delphi: A phenomenal forum for all FIRSTers to discuss, give advice, and cheer eachother on!*
- Know Your Local Regional: It is important for all FIRSTers to know about their local regionals. Our local regional is the UC-Davis-Sacramento Regional. This year, we are competing in the Washington D.C. Regional and San Jose Regional.
Awesome Flash Tutorials:
- Tutorialized: This website is an index to all Flash tutorials! It even includes tutorials for 3D Studio Max and AutoCAD!
- Entheos: This website is all about the basics. It includes tutorials for Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash. Their Flash tutorials are awesome!*
Sweet 3D Studio Max Tutorials:
- 3DStudioMaxTutorials.com: The name says it all! They're free and have necessary tutorials that are perfect for any 3D animator.
Robot Parts/ Items:
- The Robot Market Place: Great site for viewing and purchasing robot items such as motors, batteries, metals, RC gear and such! They also have robot-related t-shirts and books.
- McMaster-Carr: Great for figuring out Inventory! Has basically every part a robot would ever need, it's price, and size.
- Andy-Mark: Awesome website for FIRSTers. The makers of this website (Andy Baker and Mark Koors) have been previous members of FIRST and know what they're talking about when it comes to robot parts.*
Awesome AutoCAD/Autodesk Tutorials/Tools :
- CADtutor: Lists tutorials in levels (beginners to exercises for advanced), best of all, they're free!
- Autocad Central: Basic tutorials for the person beginning to used Auto Cad.*
- FIRST Cad Library: Parts galore! They have transmissions, motors, you name it! Perfect for modeling a robot
For the C Programmer in you:
HTML Coding Help:
- HTML Code Tutorial: Codes to help one with CSS, Frames, Scripts, and Applets.
- W3Schools: Perfect for the person who wants to learn HTML step by step! Includes, lessons, quizzes, & references.*
Dreamweaver Help:
- Entheos: This website is all about the basics. It includes tutorials for Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash. Their Dreamweaver tutorials are awesome!*
- Dreamweaver Support Center: It's always good to go back to the beginning of it all. Type in what you need help with in this Macromedia website and you'll be sure to find some tips.*
- CBT Cafe: Couple of nice tutorials for Dreamweaver.
Paint Shop Pro Tutorials:
- Modern Morph: Very nice 3D type images and text that can be made in Paint Shop Pro
- Web Graphics on a Budget: Excellent for someone new to Paint Shop Pro, simple but very useful!! (index for PSP 5, 6, and 7 tutorials)*
- Pati's PSP Tutorials: Similar to the one above, simple but useful. [index for Paint Shop Pro tutorials]
