Coach
From RoboWiki
Being coach is a very important and ever-changing job. Coaches must be able to adapt their job to suit the needs of their drivers.
Generally a coach is responsible for:
- Discussing strategy and robot placement for matches
- Ensuring that our drive team understands our strategy match to match
- Calling out time and score during matches
- Being an extra set of eyes and ears for the drivers [you have to see what they can't]
This requires:
- Volume: A coach must be easily heard over the crowd
- Communication: You must be able to communicate with members of your team and other teams
- Tact: Not everyone will embody gracious professionalism, you must be courteous even if they are not
- Organization: You have to keep track of teams you are competing with, match times and queuing times
