Drivers

The drivers for our team must be a well-prepared group. They will be operating a robot built by many people and need to perform at their best to bring success for the entire team. That being said driver's should possess these qualities:

• Strong knowledge of the rules
• Understanding of the robot
• Understanding of the driver station
• Ability to keep calm under pressure
• Being graciously professional at all times
• Represent the team well
• Work well with the other drive team members

Drivers are chosen based on a few things:

• Their performance at the scrimmage or in practice time
• Time and dedication on the team
• Test on understanding of the rules

The coach does most of the strategizing before a match and should inform the drivers of what kind of robots they will be with and against before they even queue for the match. The drivers then work with the coach to formulate a strategy and apply or modify it during the match.

At scouting meetings on fridays, drivers may bring up how it was to work with certain teams on the field during qualification matches.
