Volunteers are key in running a Vex Tournament. With more help, the competition will run more smoothly, as long as everyone knows what they are supposed to do. See Volunteer Staff Sheet.

Things To Do

Make sure EVERYONE involved reads ALL the rules.

Teams should have a checklist of all the things they need to bring to the competition, before competition day. See Team Checklist.

Timeline for a late Nov or Early Dec event

June-July: Set date with robotevents.com; set up volunteer list; send out a message to everyone in Yahoo email list including parents of stundents, allumni, and veteran students not mentoring one of our teams

August: Send out a volunteer sign ups reminder

Sept: Set up a schedule of events for the competition; start putting together packets for each of the teams

Oct: Get final list of volunteers; have a volunteer meeting to clarify any questions with all volunteers there; have scrimage where volunteers may be able to see how the competition plays out; order judge and volunteer shirts

Nov: Finalize packets; before competition make sure all volunteers know how the matches, the opening ceremony, and alliance selection are going to play out so we don't get behind; set up gym night before (try to get early time so not there late)
